Traditionelle Aborigine-Landbesitzer in Australien ersuchen Organisationen aus der ganzen Welt, ihre Stellungnahme gegen Atomkraft zu unterstützen und damit zu helfen, zu verhindern, dass ihr Land als internationales Atommüllager für hochradioaktiven Abfall verwendet wird. "Lasst das GIFT sein!"

Eine Gruppe von Politikern und Geschäftsleuten haben vor, in Süd-Australien ein internationales Atommülllager für hochradioaktiven Abfall zu errichten. Der Plan wird von vielen Menschen aus Süd-Australien abgelehnt und von einer überwältigenden Mehrheit der Aborigines.

Die "Australian Nuclear Free Alliance", welche Aborigines aus ganz Australien vertritt, fordert "Nuklear-Nationen" auf, ihren Atommüll NICHT in Australien zu deponieren. Die Atomindustrie hat auch in der Vergangenheit schon Landenteignungen von Aborigines und Umweltverschmutzungen verursacht - von den Atombombentests bis zum Uranabbau und den Vorschlägen für Atommüllendlager.

Wir rufen die Nuklearstaaten auf, ihren Atommüll NICHT in Australien zu deponieren.

Here in Australia, Aboriginal Traditional Owners are facing a push for an international high-level nuclear waste dump on their homelands. They have written a short statement (below). Also, we are hoping to get the statement translated into as many languages as possible (only English and Japanese so far). This is the statement:

'The Poison- Leave It'

A group of politicians and business-people are developing a plan to build an international high-level nuclear waste dump in South Australia. The plan is strongly opposed by many South Australians and by an overwhelming majority of Aboriginal people.
The Australian Nuclear Free Alliance, representing Aboriginal people from across Australia, calls on nuclear nations NOT to dump nuclear waste in Australia. The nuclear industry has a track record of Aboriginal dispossession and environmental pollution from the atomic bomb tests to uranium mining to nuclear waste dump proposals.

We call on nuclear nations NOT to dump nuclear waste in Australia.
